The main feature of this stand for Karimoku New Standard was a 12 meter long wall made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) plywood, that worked as a large stage for the furniture collection as well as for the framed photos by photographer Norio Kidera used in the Milan Design Week exhibition, illustrating the manufacturing and the origins of the Karimoku New Standard collection: From the hardwood forests in the north of Japan that provide the source material for Karimoku New Standard, the sawmills that process the trees, to the large Karimoku factories in Aichi prefecture, where the timber is crafted in numerous working steps into impeccable pieces of furniture.
